Victoria's lockdown will lift from Friday morning in regional areas, apart from Shepparton, as the state records 221 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases.Police have issued fines over a religious gathering in Melbourne's south-eastFrom 11:59pm Thursday, there will be no limits on travel and most venues and businesses, including hospitality, will be able to reopen with capacity limits.

Under the eased regional rules, funerals will be permitted with up to 20 people and weddings with up to 10.One change that has been extended to Melbourne residents as well is that single parents across the state will be able to access childcare regardless of whether they are authorised workers.

Authorities have listed the waiting room as a tier 1 exposure site for September 6 between 5:37pm and 11:15pm after a person with COVID-19 was present.
