But this year, shoppers might also be sensing something else: a whiff of desperation.to get a head start on consumers’ holiday shopping. Walmart kicked off its sales event on Monday, front-running Amazon.com ’s first Prime Early Access sales event that will begin on Tuesday. Kohl’s and Target both started their holiday sales events last week.
