There's a disturbing pattern of rising gun violence among teenagers. TimMcNicholas spoke with an NYPD assistant commissioner set to retire at the end of the week who is sounding off in his final days with the force about what he says is the cause.

In 2020, the number nearly doubled to 125, then increased again in 2021 and 2022.CBS2's Tim McNicholas spoke with NYPD Assistant Commissioner of Youth Services Kevin O'Connor, who is in his final days with the force."My honest belief is we've seen this coming for many years," O'Connor said."It sends a clear message.

Last year, Mayor Eric Adams said although he supports Raise the Age, the law should be amended because adult gang members are exploiting the law and making teenagers carry their guns.
