Income across Australia’s biggest accounting firms jumped 14.5 per cent to hit $14.09 billion last financial year, The Australian Financial Review Top 100 Accounting Firms list for 2022 revealed.
Clients seeking assistance with tax, compliance and refinancing work during the pandemic-inspired economic downturn drove the increase in revenue, with staff shortages the main constraint on growth.
Smaller firms – especially those with a focus on tax advice – drove the growth, with revenue for those with annual turnover under $5 million increasing by 20.6 per cent., with the big four global accounting firms – Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC – raking in combined revenue of $9.91 billion, up 17 per cent on last year.if your firm believes it should be considered for the 2023 list. Every firm that supplied data in 2022 is automatically invited to enter in 2023.
