More than 100 South Australians will be in quarantine for Christmas after a teenager went clubbing in Adelaide’s CBD while knowingly infectious with COVID-19. 7NEWS

The 19-year-old boy received a text from SA Health at 10.09pm on Friday night, notifying him he had returned a positive result.“Your COVID-19 test on 17-Dec-2021 is POSITIVE. This means that you have COVID-19. You will be contacted by SA Health soon,” it read.A teenager has put hundreds into isolation a week out from Christmas after going clubbing while knowingly infectious with COVID-19.A second text received nine minutes later at 10.

The venue has since been listed as an exposure site, and anyone who was in attendance from 10.45pm on Friday to 4.15am on Saturday is a close contact and must get tested immediately and quarantine for seven days.In a statement, Loverboy’s management said it would “have to close our doors for the busiest week of the year” saying the boy’s actions “should be considered an offence and they will be seeking justice”.
