TransGrid CEO Brett Redman said the Labor government’s grid initiative should facilitate much-needed investment in transmission to ease the transition.
The Albanese government’s Rewiring the Nation policy will be vital to help facilitate the billions of dollars of investment needed to support the transition of the power system to low-carbon and low-cost energy, says Brett Redman, CEO of NSW grid company TransGrid., said the policy “has the ability to help grease the wheels for change” and help meet the urgent need for transmission.
The major investment required to underpin the transformation of the power system is worrying energy users who are concerned about the impact on energy bills, particularly in an environment where prices are already shooting higher.
