“The AFAP remains committed to reaching an agreement and is disappointed that we have had to take this action. Unfortunately, Rex pilots have been attempting to negotiate a new Enterprise Agreement since early-2018,” the union said. “The union and the company are aligned in our desire not to have the travelling public impacted, especially during school holidays when airports are expecting massive delay,” the airline said.
Rex, at the time, hit back at the union for distributing “malicious, misleading and deceptive” material to its members to gain an edge during the pay talks.The industrial action comes ahead of the busy school holiday period for airlines and airports.has bluntly warned passengers that “there will be queues” as 2.1 million travellers make their way through the gateway over the three-week holiday period.
