Formula 1: Aussie Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo revealed his emotions towards the 2024 British Grand Prix.

Ricciardo and Pérez’s futures are on a knife edge. The next two races could decide which way they fallWhat lies before Ricciardo is a remarkable coin flip .

But now Pérez’s form tanked — hard. He’s scored just 15 points from the last five grands prix, his return so poor that The new deal — which Christian Horner has revealed to be a one-plus-one contract rather than the two-year extension suggested by the press release — appears to have been a move to ensure Red Bull Racing assumes all the power in the relationship.

There’s also speculation that having Pérez sign a new contract ensures that his lucrative sponsors will remain tied to the team if the Mexican is sacked for performance reasons. If the new contract had given Pérez a boost in confidence that upped his performance, the team would have been satisfied. But despite the slow start, there’s been a trajectory of improvement ever since his chassis change at the Chinese Grand Prix.

And not only does it ensure he’s in the frame for the Mexican’s seat, but it also gives ammunition to those in the Red Bull hierarchy who still don’t believe in Tsunoda’s ability to cut it alongside Verstappen. His form — both this year and at these races in previous years — means getting to within 100 points of Verstappen is fanciful.

He’s a winner at both venues, both victories coming in his first Red Bull Racing season. He’s collected a pair of other podiums at both too. There’ll be no set result for Ricciardo to achieve this weekend to convince for a promotion, not least because it’s unclear exactly where RB is in the pecking order, having lost months of development work following the roll-back of several new but maladapted parts in recent rounds. With Tsunoda — bafflingly — seemingly left unconsidered for promotion, Ricciardo’s elevation back into the Red Bull Racing fold would appear to be a leading option given his experience and past results.
