The clock is ticking on danielricciardo's F1 career with McLarenF1 but the Australian is adamant he still has the talent to unlock the ‘spectacular’. 7NEWS
Ricciardo is contracted to McLaren until the end of the 2023 season. But in the cut-throat business of Formula One, a sudden end to his contract isn’t off the table.
The 22-year-old has already stated his serious desire for reaching Formula One after coming up through the ranks of single-seater racing both in Europe and the US. He represented McLaren at a Formula One young driver test in Abu Dhabi last year. His future is, however, unknown beyond this year. The United States will host three Formula One races next year in Austin, Miami and Las Vegas as a grand prix runs down the city’s iconic strip and around its famous hotels.
For Ricciardo’s seat to be safe for another season, the Australian would need to improve on his 2021 results and record at least two podium finishes - crucial points for himself, and the team.
