Former Manchester City defender-turned-pundit Micah Richards has sympathised with Dominic Calvert-Lewin following the Everton striker's latest injury setback.
Despite obvious swelling to the 26-year-old's right cheek, Everton were hopeful it would only be knock. At this stage there has been no full diagnosis made public. Richards saw his own playing career ended by persistent injuries. He has since claimed that he rejected European offers to sign for Villa in 2015, leaving Man City in search of regular football. However, across four seasons Richards was only able to manage 31 appearances and in 2019 he retired at 31 years of age.
