Picture: NCA NewsWire /Philip GostelowPickett is facing allegations he stole more than $380,000 in Australian and foreign currencies. It's alleged he hired a campervan to move money across the country. Pickett's lawyer David Manera asked for his bail to be granted, adding he chose to attend a pre-arranged appointment at Midland Police Station on Sunday instead of flying back to Melbourne with his team.

"He knew days before that and arranged to meet with the police," his lawyer told reporters outside court. Mr Manera also argued he should be granted bail due to his residence in Melbourne, his role as a professional footballer and sole provider of his partner and four children.
