Senior midfielder Charlotte Richardson and sophomore midfielder Camryn Letellier each scored goals in a span of about seven minutes in the second overtime period.
“I can’t believe it,” Ridge Point coach Evelyn Torres said. “We always preach one goal at a time. …To get two in that final second overtime is just a dream.” “I couldn’t ask for more,” Torres said. “It was something we were looking for the entire game but we didn’t get it until the second overtime.” A senior class of 13 players helped Ridge Point pick up its fifth consecutive District 19-6A championship with a 14-0-2 record and advance to Georgetown for the second time in program history with postseason wins over Cinco Ranch, Cy-Fair, Seven Lakes, Clear Lake, and Stratford. The Panthers fell to Rockwall 4-2 in overtime in last year’s state semis.
