A solar eclipse occurs when the moon aligns between the Earth and sun, casting a shadow that can partially or totally block the sun’s light.Next Saturday’s annular, or ring-shaped, eclipse will appear as a “Ring of Fire” because the moon will be too far away in its orbit to fully cover the sun.over North Texas, so the eclipse will look more like a crescent sun, according to Ryan Bennett, who leads the University of North Texas’ astronomy education program.Around 10:20 a.m. on Oct.
