Mr Sunak also raised the issue of the British hostages in a separate phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and PM Mohammed bin Salman.Mr Sunak has been at the forefront of the UK’s diplomatic efforts to show support for Israel in the wake of the Hamas terror attacks and to try to limit any conflict from spilling over into a regional war.
“The Prime Minister updated on his conversations with other Arab leaders and they agreed that the conflict must not be allowed to destabilise the wider region and cause further bloodshed.”
