Rishi Sunak is a staunch supporter of his hometown team Southampton FC (if you can believe it) and says he's 'sad' to see them relegated.
The prime minister relived the sad moment he learned his football team would be relegated from the Premier League.
In an earlier interview with Sky News, he awkwardly avoided journalist Beth Rigby’s questions about ‘how it feels to lose’ – of course, referring to theThe PM made the comments about Southampton after he joined his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida, for dinner during his visit to Hiroshima for the G7 summit.
Mr Sunak said: ‘I hope your baseball team has had a better season than my football team, who have had a very bad season.’
