It was an emotional day in Leeds - and Rob7Burrow should be so, so proud of himself
Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield have always been loved by the city of Leeds but their legend was further cemented on Sunday.
They led a staggering 15,000 people, along the course, who all came together as one for the first Rob Burrow Marathon. The sun glistened over the streets of Headingley as thousands showed their support and adulation for the rugby heroes and the runners inspired to follow their example.Leeds Rhinos great Rob was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019 and, as all know, has worked tirelessly alongside wife Lindsey Burrow, friends and family to increase awareness of the condition.
The event has raised money for a string of good causes, including the Motor Neurone Disease Association and a Leeds Hospitals Charity appeal to build a Rob Burrow Centre for MND. Leeds has always had an endearing spirit, loyalty and a determination to do right by their own. There was no doubting the people power displayed on Sunday. Leeds loves Rob Burrow and they’ll never let him forget it.
