The Saints manager insists his club are often fighting against clubs with stronger finances in the Scottish Premiership.
Stephen Robinson revealed he has little sympathy for Hibs after their European mauling at the hands of Aston Villa.
But Robinson feels St Mirren have to upset the apple cart against bigger clubs more often than not in the Scottish Premiership - including this weekend’s visit of Aberdeen. When asked if Hibs were fighting a losing battle against cash-rich Aston Villa, Robinson told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “We do that every week!“We see it in the SPFL. You have to find a way to bridge the gap. We’ve managed to do that over the last 18 months and I’m sure Lee will feel the same.
“But in every league there are two or three clubs with that advantage and as a manager you have to find a way to make up for it and get surprise results at times.
