A man shot dead in a targeted daylight shooting outside a busy Melbourne shopping centre is understood to have high-level gangland links. Robert Issa, 27, has been identified as the man who died in the shooting just before 2pm on Saturday at Craigieburn Central.
Man gunned down outside Melbourne centre had underworld links. Four balaclava-clad men fired multiple rounds of bullets into Issa and his 28-year-old associate while they were sitting in his associate’s parked Mercedes-Benz outside the shopping centre. Issa died at the scene and his associate remains in hospital with serious injuries. Crime command commander Paul O’Halloran said the incident appeared targeted and linked to organised crime.
