A court has heard a witness will be accused of lying when Robert Xie appeals against his conviction for brutally murdering five members of Sydney's Lin family.Xie is set to appeal the conviction in June, claiming a witness was dishonestThe Supreme Court has heard Xie's appeal will run for up to seven days in June, with some of the witnesses due to give evidence via video-link from overseas.

Justice Robert Beech-Jones said, given the large amount of material involved, it was likely other parties in the matter would appear in court in person. "I expect it's subject to how the COVID-19 pandemic evolves over the next eight weeks," he told the court.
