Rochester, N.Y. — Police made a plea to the public Tuesday, following the discovery of a missing 16-year-old girl's body over the weekend.Fishermen found Jakara
Jakarah Lopez-Moore, 16, was found dead Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 in a wooded area off Vanguard Parkway in Rochester. She had been reported missing Sunday, Aug. 27.
Police said her body had been in the woods for about a month. They have not announced the cause of her death but have ruled it a homicide. They're asking anyone with information to contact them. Umbrino also said it's difficult to determine which missing-children cases to prioritize in sharing with the public.
