GAME STORY | The Pirates snapped a seven-game losing streak while the Rockies lost for just the second time in their last eight games.

Keller allowed just four hits, struck out eight and walked just one en route to the first shutout of his career. “His stuff was outstanding and I think we knew that going in,” Black said. ‘It showed today. He had every pitch working. Fastball velocity, with location, and a good breaking ball. At times he was behind in the count and he landed that breaking ball for strikes.”

But all Freeland could do in the seventh inning was watch Rodolfo Castro’s two-run homer sneak over the center-field wall.
