The Rockies’ season-long search for effective starting pitchers continues.

Right-hander Peter Lambert will be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque to start Friday night’s game at Miami, a source confirmed. Also, struggling right-hander Connor Seabold will be delegated to the bullpen.

Lambert pitched well against the Tigers, putting up three scoreless innings, allowing two hits, walking one and striking out two. He threw 45 pitches and needed just 10 pitches in a one-two-three first inning. “You have to look at the positives,” Lambert said at the time. “I’m not happy to go down to Albuquerque, there’s no doubt about that. But hopefully, it’s a good thing in the end.”

Seabold has been struggling with his command, and opposing teams have been teeing off on him. The right-hander gave up six runs in 2 1/3 innings in a 6-3 loss to the Yankees at Coors Field. Over his last five starts, he’s 0-5 with a 14.21 ERA, giving up 10 home runs, and hitters have mashed .391 against him.
