Public spaces includes schools, restaurants, businesses, houses of worship and hospitals, unless a person is going in for treatment or to get vaccinated. It does not extend to outdoor spaces like parks, Day said. “This is an opportunity for everyone in their community to do the right thing for their neighbors and come together,” he said.
“Our county health inspectors have been hung up upon, or told not to call again. They’ve been told ‘we’re not discussing this, do not come back,'” Day said. “This type of response is unacceptable, and frankly irresponsible.”from attending certain schools. The move sparked a lawsuit brought by Rockland parents of unvaccinated children, but a federal judge earlier this month denied a request that would have allowed those students back into school.
