Rockstar Games has now commented on yesterday's massive 'illegal' GTA 6 leak, saying that development on the game will 'continue as planned.'

. Despite the leak, Rockstar says it does not"anticipate any disruption" to any live game services nor"any long-term effect" on projects in development."We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorised third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto," Rockstar Games says.

"We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone soon and, of course, will properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready. We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support through this situation.

, which confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6's Vice City setting, and that there are two protagonists, one of them being female. The leaked videos also showed off the game's combat, weapons, cars, and more. These videos quickly began to spread like wildfire over the internet, and soon after, Take-Two began issuing DMCA notices to get the footage removed.More Grand Theft Auto V stories:
