Rocky Mountain National Park grew by 40 acres on Monday to a total size of 265,847 acres.

“As we celebrate this donation of 40 acres, we recognize it is a beautiful, beautiful segment to the park,” said Darla Sidles, Rocky Mountain National Park Superintendent. “Rocky Mountain Conservancy held the property for us and then Senator Gardner, Senator Bennett and Congressman Neguse helped with the legislation to bring it to fruition.”

“I grew up in Longmont when it was only 7,000-8,000 people,” Brand said. “I went to UC – Boulder then to the Marine Corps as a fighter pilot and then served in Japan for 15 months. I came back to UC — Boulder for my degree in aeronautical engineering.”
