The club released a statement on Wednesday morning to announce the departure of the Portuguese football superstar following his interview with Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
In an exclusive 90-minute chat with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored last week, he hit out at some of the club's officials and executives.

Picture: James Gill/Getty Images "Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect," it announced on Wednesday morning.Ronaldo is currently focused on playing for Portugal at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar but will need to find a new Premier League club when the competition ends."I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge," the football icon said.
The most followed footballer in the world had told Morgan the club"made me feel bad" after he told them about his sick daughter, who had contracted bronchitis. Ronaldo also spoke of the disappointment he felt over Manchester United’s lack of empathy and support during his daughter’s illness. Manchester United’s pre-season began on July 4 and Ronaldo did not report to the training ground with the rest of the international players citing family reasons.
