This has been a long time coming after a five-year political saga that left the life-saving proposals in limbo.We have been at the forefront of calls for this vital measure. Too many people have died from drug overdoses and the Scottish Government has been rightly criticised for failing to get to grips with the issue.
If it can encourage drug addicts to access other services, from treatment to housing and employment, it will benefit all of us. That is all the reason we need to go full steam ahead with these plans – and bring safe consumption facilities to all of our drug-blighted cities. Taxpayers’ red mist Protest is a key part of any democracy and there’s certainly plenty around to protest about at the moment.
