Xander Schauffele took home a record pay cheque as he claimed the Claret Jug at Royal Troon
It was a record total prize fund for the 2024 Open Championship with $17 million paid out following the tournament at Royal Troon.
Schauffele took away a tournament-record $3.1 million payday to take him over $50m career earnings. While the American was celebrating an impressive week in Scotland it was a tournament to forget for Rory McIlroy. The Holywood man pocketed $8,750, but he wasn't alone in taking home the lowest prize money amount. Tiger Woods and Bryson Dechambeau also won the same.
