Mr Cristuta said he received several letters from the council ordering him to remove his roosters but he refused to comply and get rid of his "three boys" Rambo, Roycie, and Tuksa.Since then, he said, he had been begging the council to give him back his roosters, or at least move them to a rural property he could visit regularly."I'm heartbroken and I've lost my drive because I felt like I have failed as a father," Mr Cristuta said.
The former security guard said he used to take his three boys on daily road trips all over Brisbane and the Queensland countryside to go for walks. "People are so focused on themselves. You can buy as much as you want and you can destroy as much as you want — yourself, the environment, the ecology," he said.
