The official social media accounts for the royal family posted a brief statement and photo of the Queen after she was laid to rest with her husband Prince Philip.
Following the grand funeral at Westminster Abbey, the Queen’s coffin proceeded to Windsor Castle.
Her Majesty’s procession into the chapel was led by King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. The Committal service at St George’s Chapel was attended by 800 people including the Royal Family, Commonwealth prime ministers, governor-generals and members of Her Majesty’s household.
The Lord Chamberlain, Lord Andrew Parker, broke the wand of office and rested it upon the casket – signalling the end of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.
