It's been a year since the Royal Family came together for one of its most historic days in decades - the Coronation of King Charles - but it's been a year from hell for the Firm.
A year on from the Coronation - it's been a tumultuous year for the Royal Family marked by health scares, wild rumours and eviction fears. Exactly one year ago, the Royal Family gathered for one of its most historic days in decades - the Coronation of King Charles.
However, 12 months on from that jubilant day, things look very different for the Firm and it's not been a smooth year for many of its key members.... While his public duties were put on hold, he continued with private responsibilities within the palace. His nephew, Peter Phillips, spoke to Sky News Australia about the King's condition, saying: "He's frustrated that he can't get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he is very pragmatic, he understands that there's a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself.
According to a Palace spokesperson, plans regarding how the monarch and his spouse could participate in summer and autumn events continue, but "nothing can be confirmed or guaranteed" and all plans will depend on medical advice closer to the date. In a poignant video message, she disclosed her cancer diagnosis and the commencement of preventative chemotherapy. At the time of her surgery, it was believed her condition was benign, with no tests indicating cancer. In an emotional broadcast to the nation, Kate spoke of "an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family".
The speculation intensified when it was revealed that a Mother's Day photo of Kate with her children, taken by Prince William, had been digitally altered - an adjustment that Kate herself admitted to making. In addition, it was disclosed that the London Clinic, where Kate underwent surgery, had initiated an investigation following allegations that staff attempted to access her private medical records.
When questioned about the status of his father's health, however, he opted for privacy, declaring "that stays between us". He did hint at hopes for familial reconciliation, suggesting illness could bring families together: "Yeah, I'm sure. Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together.
