Liverpool begin their Europa League campaign away at LASK Linz on September 21
Royale Union Saint-Gilloise have confirmed the venue they will host their Europa League fixtures at this season as Liverpool prepare to face the Belgian club.
Usually playing their matches at the Joseph Marien Stadium, which holds up to 9,400 supporters, Royale Union have been forced to seek an alternative location to compete in Europe's second-tier competition due to failing to meet UEFA requirements for fixtures of this nature. As a result, Liverpool will make the trip to Lotto Park - the home of Anderlecht - which boasts a larger capacity of 21,000 seats. Jurgen Klopp's side will play this fixture as their final group stage game on December 14.
This development, which was today confirmed by the Belgian club, will also come as good news for Liverpool fans, who are now set to receive an increased ticket allocation compared to if the Joseph Marien Stadium was the venue of choice.
