Bins won't be picked up in eight local government areas as the union representing garbage collectors takes industrial action over pay and conditions.
Rubbish truck drivers will strike on Wednesday after being unable to resolve their dispute with employer Cleanaway.abc.net.au/news/perth-rubbish-truck-drivers-to-strike-over-cleanaway-dispute/102235518Rubbish collectors across large parts of Perth and regional Western Australia are planning to strike from midnight tonight over a pay and conditions dispute with their employer.
"They need to get onto [the] local councils and they need to put pressure on them to put pressure on Cleanaway. "They are the clients of Cleanaway, Cleanaway needs to supply a service to them and they need to talk to them and make sure that Cleanaway comes to the table and negotiates in good faith."Mr Dawson said the union was asking for a pay rise in line with inflation.
