Rudy Giuliani proposed suing Congress and 'The Swamp' over the impeachment inquiry by lisettevoytko
Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, suggested he would sue Congress during a Fox News appearance.
He alleged that Trump’s constitutional rights were being violated through a conspiracy created by House Democrats. Giuliani also said he could sue Congress for violating attorney-client privilege, obstruction of justice and interfering with Trump’s constitutional right to direct foreign policy. Anchor Laura Ingraham said it was a “novel” approach and reminded him that members of Congress have immunity while speaking on the floor.that he’s “looking at a lawsuit to end lawless action,” would call the case “Trump v The Swamp” and pursue it in “federal court.”“This is worse than McCarthy!” said Giuliani during his Fox News segment. He’s referring to Senator Joseph McCarthy, who in the 1950s became known for accusing people of being Communist spies and sympathizers.
“McCarthyism” as “personal attacks on individuals by means of widely publicized indiscriminate allegations, especially on the basis of unsubstantiated charges.”
