New to Kayo?Appo, 25, has spent the past two seasons playing with the Bradford Bulls in the second-tier RFL Championship in the UK.

He was granted conditional bail back on November 26 after being hit with the charges, but reportedly boarded a flight from Manchester to Dubai and then PNG just hours later. Appo was due to appear at Bradford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (AEDT) and an extradition process is now underway to return him to England. West Yorkshire Police confirmed Appo was charged following an investigation by Calderdale District Adult Protection Team over a report made in April 2024. Keven Appo has left the UK after a string of charges. The second-rower has been charged with rape, sexual assault and two counts of assault against a woman. He signed a new two-year deal with the Bulls in August last year, but the club has since released a statement confirming Appo has been sacked. “Following today’s West Yorkshire Police statement, the Bradford Bulls have cancelled Keven Appo’s playing contract,” the statement on the club’s website read.“The search for a suitable, quality replacement is underway.” Appo played professional rugby league for three years with the PNG Hunters, who compete in the Queensland Cup in Australia, before moving to the UK to join the Bulls. He also represented PNG as the Kumuls made a run to the quarter-finals of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in England. After recruiting Appo to Bradford in November 2022, then head coach Mark Dunning spoke of his delight at securing the signature of a long-term target
