Rumer Willis announced on Wednesday that her father was retiring from acting after being diagnosed with a brain disorder called aphasia. The 33-year-old Rumer, the oldest of the 67-year-old's five daughters, revealed the news on Instagram Monday morning, revealing the aphasia was, 'impacting his cognitive abilities.
The statement Rumer released this morning began, 'To Bruce's amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities'. According to the National Aphasia Association, the condition is an impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write.
