Rush University System for Health is promoting Dr. Omar Lateef to the role of president and CEO.

Now, Lateef is president and CEO of Rush University Medical Center, and he will continue in that role as well as his new one, Rush said in a news release Wednesday. The system includes Rush University Medical Center, Rush University, Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.Dr. Lateef will take over from Dr. Ranga Krishnan, who will become a senior adviser to Lateef.
Before Krishnan became CEO in 2019, he was the dean of Rush Medical College from October 2015 to May 2019.
