There was 'blood on the street' as two men suffered 'potentially life-threatening' injuries in the 'targeted incident'
There were scenes of horror in the city centre on Wednesday evening after two men were left seriously injured after being stabbed in the street.
Horrified witnesses reported seeing 'blood on the street' as clothing and debris were left in the middle of the road and paramedics were seen 'performing CPR'.Police received reports that two men, aged 20 and 30, had been stabbed and both were rushed to hospital from the scene with serious injuries that police say are 'potentially life-threatening' at this time.
One local resident told the M.E.N they had 'never seen so many police' as incident response units, ambulances and specialist operations units arrived at the scene before forensics. Councillor Pat Karney said the 'horrendous' assault 'raised anxiety and alarm' for the public as he thanked the emergency services. "Manchester definitely doesn’t need these images about our city," he said.
