The Foreign Minister puts a focus on conflict, climate change and nuclear weapons in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, calling for reforms to the UN to better respond to an 'age of existential threats'.
She will also point to rising tensions in the South China Sea and North Korea's nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.
"In short, military power is expanding, but measures to constrain military conflict are not – and there are few concrete mechanisms for averting it." As one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, Russia is able to exercise a veto power"With its special responsibility as a permanent member of the Security Council, Russia mocks the UN every day it continues its illegal and immoral invasion of Ukraine," she will say.
