Links to Wikipedia sites will be accompanied by a disclaimer about legal violations by the FoundationIn a statement, Roskomnadzor said that Wikipedia still hosted "prohibited materials, including fakes about the course of the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine", and that search engines would be used to inform users that Wikimedia violated Russian law.
Writing on Telegram, the vice-chair of the Russian parliament's committee on information policy, Anton Gorelkin, said that, in Russia, links to Wikipedia would be accompanied by a disclaimer warning users about legal violations by Wikimedia Foundation. Roskomnadzor said the measures would remain in place until Wikimedia Foundation became fully compliant with Russian law.
On June 13, the Wikimedia Foundation appealed a Moscow court ruling, fining it 5 million roubles for refusing to remove what it termed "disinformation" from Russian-language Wikipedia articles on the Ukraine conflict, including "The Russian Invasion of Ukraine",
