Russia and Ukraine air dueling videos of detainees seeking prisoner swap
In Moscow, Oksana Marchenko, wife of Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk, speaks to the media in front of a screen with pictures of her husband handcuffed and detained this month by Ukrainian forces. Two British nationals Russia claims to have captured while fighting Ukrainian forces in Mariupol appeared in a video aired on Russian state television Monday.
The dueling videos from Russia and Ukraine have raised questions about the treatment of detainees and prisoners of war nearly two months into the conflict. He previously led the pro-Russian Opposition Platform — For Life party and isUkrainian authorities announced last week that he was apprehended while trying to flee the country after escaping house arrest. He was arrested last year on charges of treason and financing terrorism, which he denies.
