Putin to discuss Ukrainian grain exports with Turkish officials in Tehran
Beleaguered Ukrainian farmers are to receive support from the US government in the form of a $100m programme intended to provide supplies to maintain future harvests and alleviate the global food security crisis aggravated by the Russian invasion.
Before Moscow’s 24 February invasion, Ukraine was the world’s fourth-largest exporter of corn and fifth-largest exporter of wheat, but Russia’s blockade of Black Sea ports has strangled the industries.
