Footage posted to social media after the raid on Alexei Navalny's headquarters shows officers using power tools to force open a door and tape over security cameras.
The Federal Bailiffs Service told Reuters it was carrying out investigative activities at Mr Navalny's foundation as part of a criminal investigation. It said it had not detained anyone during the raid.He posted a photo of himself on social media in front of two officers wearing riot gear, and he said he would,"not be removed, in spite of any pressure".
In another post, Mr Navalny invited followers to make memes out of a different photo of him sitting in a hallway under the watch of two guards. The raid occurred a day after Mr Navalny said the military conscription of one of his political allies to a remote air base in the Arctic amounted to kidnapping and illegal imprisonment. That case ended with a court ordering Mr Navalny to delete within 10 days all references to the allegations in his video, which Mr Medvedev and Mr Usmanov said were utterly false.
