Alessia Russo is willing to be patient and earn her place for England after striking twice against Northern Ireland. More from awinehouse1

Alessia Russo is willing to be patient and earn her place for England after striking twice against Northern Ireland.

The Manchester United striker came on from the bench for Ellen White and scored twice within eight minutes of being introduced. England managed to beat Northern Ireland 5-0 to progress to the quarter-finals without conceding a single goal. She has only played 107 minutes at the tournament so far and is competing with the likes of Ellen White, Lauren Hemp and Beth Mead for a starting berth, but is keen to keep getting game-time for Sarina Wiegman's side.

Russo said: "I enjoy every game in an England shirt and to come on and score is great. I just got in the right place at the right time, and was able to put it in the back of the net. "I should have finished that last one but we will move on to the next game. I've been watching Ian Wright's goals this week and maybe that helped me.
