South Australian authorities and health officials are looking at closing the borders, just two weeks after reopening, to three jurisdictions amid fears Omicron is spreading in the community.
Authorities will discuss advice handed down by SA Health on the developing Omicron infections in NSW that has now risen to 13 with one each in the ACT and Northern Territory.
Senior government officials added authorities were"really concerned" about"lax" international quarantine rules in NSW and Victoria. The woman in her 30s had spent time in Port Noarlunga with an urgent alert sent out for the Onkaparinga Council in the city's outer south.Cases have risen in South Australia with the largest outbreak detected from a high school reunion attended by former premier Jay Weatherill. Seventeen infections have been recorded.
The department is investigating an outbreak of 13 cases within Regents Park Christian School where they discovered two more students were infected with the Omicron variants. The entire school from kindergarten to Year 12 has been dismissed for the rest of the year with all staff and students identified as close contacts.The World Health Organisation has determined the southern African variant as one of"concern".
