South Australia has recorded 198 new cases of COVID-19 — another daily record for the state.
South Australia's biggest and busiest COVID-19 vaccination clinic — at the Adelaide Showground — is closed for two weeks from today.
Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier and Premier Steven Marshall have defended SA Health's delay in publicly listing COVID-19 exposure sites, as venues continue to be added more than a week after a case visited them.after learning that a positive case had attended its venue two days prior, even though it had not received any correspondence from SA Health "despite phone and email enquiries".
Professor Spurrier said positive cases were sent an online survey to fill out, and contact tracers follow up on any "high risk" settings such as hospitals or aged care settings. "However, if we then find – because we do all of this linkage with cases as well – that there has been transmission at that hotel as well, then we would upgrade the site because we would know then that a transmission has occurred and that would put the priority up.
