Anthony Albanese has shared a polarising meme on social media designed to celebrate Labor’s achievements in office but the attempt at internet humour appears to have backfired on the Prime Minister.
Anthony Albanese has shared a meme on social media touting Labor ’s cost of living relief efforts but the “So Helpful” album cover has drawn a mixed response on both sides of politics.
The mock-up CD cover spruiked a number of the Albanese government’s signature cost of living relief measures, including $300 savings on power bills, cheaper medicines and increased rent assistance. The meme also came exactly one week after the Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed underlying inflation – the Reserve Bank of Australia’s preferred measure – fell just 0.1 per cent while overall inflation rose from 3.6 per cent to 3.8 per cent in July.RBA Governor Michelle Bullock has cited Labor's spending as an inflation driver.
