Salman Rushdie's agent said the novelist is on a ventilator, unable to speak and may lose one eye after he was stabbed in the neck and torso during a writer's conference in New York.
The 75-year-old was airlifted to hospital after he was stabbed in the neck and torso as he was being introduced to perform a speech in Chautauqua, Buffalo on Friday morning ."Salman will likely lose one eye; the nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged."
