When’s the last time a chocolate chip cookie surprised you? Because this one might just become your new favorite.
I really like this recipe. I used caramel chips and caramel extract. Baked for 8 minutes and they are just the right texture. I didn’t refrigerate dough but I put the bowl in the freezer for 10 minutes and that worked.Love these! I love them fresh from the oven so stash a bag of cookie balls in the freezer. My buckwheat has dark flecks in it which you see in the finished cookie. I use regular salt cause that's what's on hand. So delicious and not overly sweet.
Delicious! Also - sidebar: I couldn't find Diamond Crystal kosher salt during the height of the pandemic for some reason and instead picked up a package of Morton's Kosher salt and because I really love the salty bite of this cookie, I just spooned some Morton's planet-sized kosher salt into a mortar and pestle and crushed it to a seemingly acceptable level to sprinkle on top. Happy baking all <3These were absolutely delicious! Even the dough was incredible.
