Sam Neill admits he receives 'a lot of flak to this day' for his hybrid accent in Jurassic Park
The Hunt for the Wilderpeople star said he spent a month perfecting his American accent, only for Steven, 75, to tell him to use his 'own voice' instead.
Never forget: In a reunion interview for Vanity Fair with his co-stars, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern, the 74-year-old New Zealand-born actor said people still comment on his accent 'I said,"That's great, Steven, thank you so much." And then four days later, he came up to me and said,"You know that voice you're using now?" I said,"Yeah, my voice?" He said,"Somewhere in between."''So that's why I get a lot of flak to this day: Sam Neill's American accent in Jurassic Park was a load of T. rex poo,' he continued.
But Laura, 55, came to her co-star's defence, insisting he was simply giving 'the fans everything they want' with his hybrid accent.
